Tom Brady follows up Super Bowl win by buying $6 million yacht

Tom Brady found another way to celebrate his Super Bowl via boat.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback was revealed to be one of the buyers of a new Wajer 77 yacht via a company livestream last week. Apparently, Brady is upgrading from another yacht from the same company, the Wajer 55 S.

Forbes estimates the price of the new boat to be $6 million. Apparently, the company already has 15 preorders.

Football fans may remember Brady's current yacht from its appearance at the Bucs' Super Bowl boat parade, in which he hurled the Lombardi Trophy across the water to his teammates. Like that boat, Brady siad the new one will be called "Viva a Vida," Portuguese for "Celebration of Life."

Brady said his love of boating goes back to when he first moved to Tampa:

I was in New England, for a lot of years, which is kind of a boating community, but moving down to Tampa Bay last year, I live right here on this beautiful bay, Old Hillsborough Bay. The first thing I did when I got here, I said 'I need a boat.'

Of course, you may be asking why a man would pay all that money to upgrade from a recently purchased boat to a new one that is 20 feet longer. The extremely Tom Brady answer: It will make his family's weekend trips to the Bahamas more comfortable:

The 55 is an amazing boat, it's been an amazing boat for our family. I think the 77 will be a little more suited for what we need it for down here, which is a few more day trips and weekend trips. We spend a lot of times in the Bahamas, so going from the east coast of Florida across into the Bahamas and around the Bahamas would be really great trips for us as a family.

Among the amenities listed on Wajer's site are a 400-nautical mile range, four cabins with ensuite bathrooms, deck cooling, an automatic roof, coffee bar. The pictures are quite something.

Brady can apparently expect to receive his new purchase sometime in the next year.
