The 26th season ofDancing With the Stars premiered Monday and former Olympic figure skaters ruled the night. Three of the top four performances belonged to Tonya Harding, Mirai Nagasu, and Adam Rippon.
Tonya Harding continued her rise in popular culture following the success of the film I, Tonya. An emotional Harding put on a wonderful performance with her partner Sasha Farber.
Judge Len Goodman said, "You shouldn't be weeping, you should be happy because that was a lovely performance." Harding received 23 points from the judges, which tied Mirai Nagasu for second place.
Adam Rippon, who rose to fame as the first openly gay U.S Winter Olympic athlete, is also an early favorite. He cha-chaed with partner Jenna Johnson and won over the judges and the audience. His score of 24 tied with Josh Norman for the highest of the night.
