Tornado Passes Ships on Mississippi River in New Orleans

A tornado passed over the Mississippi River in New Orleans, Louisiana, on March 22, leaving one dead and causing heavy damage in the Arabi area.

One person was confirmed to have been killed in the storm, Sheriff James Pohlmann said at a press conference on Tuesday night.

Damage was reported on the ground by the National Weather Service as the storm moved west of the Arabi area, moving northeast into the city’s east.

Crews were working to restore power to 8,000 customers affected by the storm, according to Mayor LaToya Cantrell.
