The good news is that Friday is here; the bad news is so is the chilly weather.

As of 6 a.m. it was -1 C but the forecast is calling for a mid-day high of just -4 C. Overnight the freezing conditions will continue with a low of -12 C. There's a 40 per cent chance of flurries this morning and early this afternoon.

U of T strike ends

In the news, striking workers at the University of Toronto are expected to return to work today after agreeing to binding arbitration last night. The university has posted this notice to students about how classes will resume and the university will return to normal operations.

Sunshine list to be released today

The province's so-called Sunshine List, which lists all public sector workers who earn more than $100,000 a year, is due for release today. Last year's list included 97,796 names and filled five binders, leading some to complain the $100,000 threshold is too low.

Sandro Lisi trial continues

Yesterday the lawyer for Lisi's co-accused grilled Toronto police Det. Ross Fernandes about how he conducted his investigation. Lisi — a friend and occasional driver for former Toronto Mayor Rob Ford — and Jamshid ​Bahrami have both pleaded not guilty to several drug-related charges. Fernandes's testimony will continue today.
