Weather

The below seasonal temperatures will continue today, with a high of 13 C. On the brighter side, the day is expected to be sunny. Temperatures will rise on the weekend with a Saturday high of 20 C and 25 C on Sunday.

Transit

TTC service is running mostly on time so far this morning. The elevator on the eastbound platform at Dundas West station is out of service. The 95 York Mills westbound stop at Scarsdale has been temporarily removed due to construction. Commuters can walk to Lesmill or Leslie stops as an alternative.

GO Transit trains and buses are running on time. At Burlington station, there will be no elevator access from the south side of the station until fall 2015 because of construction.

Toronto Pearson airport and Billy Bishop airport downtown are reporting that air traffic is moving on time. ​

College street fire

Two people suffered minor injuries during a two-alarm blaze on College Street near Borden Street overnight. Fire crews managed to knock down the blaze relatively quickly, but the building suffered significant damage. One of the injured people reportedly suffered a head injury while trying to escape from an upper-level window.

Details on Junction Triangle shooting victim

The family of a 33-year-old man shot and killed in the Junction Triangle on Wednesday night spoke to CBC News in an exclusive interview, saying Marlon Lennox Mason was a "good man" whose "legacy will live on through love." Mason, a father of five children, came to Canada from Grenada a decade ago and host a reggae program on a local college radio station. Police say they do not have a suspect description at this time.

Teachers' strike

Premier Kathleen Wynne is raising the possibility of back-to-work legislation for striking teachers, as thousands of students have been out of school for nearly five weeks. The Liberal government is waiting on a ruling from the Ontario Labour Relations Board on the legality of the strikes, and is also awaiting advice from the Education Relations Commission on whether the students' school years are in jeopardy. Once those rulings and recommendations are in, the government would act, said Wynne.

Missing girl found

After an all-night search, police said this morning they have located 10-year-old Saquanna Dante Duncan, who went missing for over 12 hours last evening. The girl was safe and returned to her family, police said.
