Toronto police searching for suspect in violent sexual assault
Toronto police are asking for help in identifying a man suspected of a violent sexual assault that happened near Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue early Saturday.
Police have released security images of the suspect who allegedly followed a 28-year-old woman off a northbound bus around 3 a.m.
The man approached the woman from behind and then began sexually assaulting her, police reported.
The assailant "initiated a brutal attack on the woman, she was punched repeatedly about the head," a media release from Toronto police says.
The pair later struggled and the attacker ran off, heading northward, according to police.
The suspect has a medium complexion, stands between five-foot-nine and five-foot-eleven and has a skinny build. He has short black hair and looks to be between 25 to 35, police say.
He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a tan, waist-length jacket.
