'Thanks for the love': Toronto rapper Robin Banks stable after Vaughan triple shooting

Up-and-coming Toronto rapper Robin Banks is in stable condition after a triple shooting at a Vaughan hookah lounge left him fighting for his life on Monday.

As news of the shooting emerged, friends and fans took to social media with the hashtag #PrayforRobinBanks to express their hope for the recovery of the 22-year-old, whose actual name is Liban Randall.

"Thanks for the love and support from everyone worldwide," Banks's management team told CBC Toronto on Tuesday. "It's really appreciated."

Among those sending their well-wishes to Banks on Tuesday was rapper Meek Mill, who posted a photo of Banks on Instagram with the caption: Pray 4 da kid.

That post has since been liked more than 30,000 times.

York Regional Police refused to confirm that Banks is the victim, but did release the photos of two men wanted for attempted murder in the shooting outside outside Cameo Lounge.

Police are now searching for Rushawn Anderson, 19 and Nicholas Rhoden, 26 in connection with the incident. Both are considered armed and dangerous.

Officers were called to Steeles Avenue West near Weston Road just before 3 a.m. Monday where three people were found with gunshot wounds outside the lounge. About 150 people were inside at the time, police said, calling it "a very busy scene."

Banks suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital in good condition.

A 26-year-old woman from Aurora and a 26-year-old man from Toronto were also taken to hospital suffering from non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators are looking for a black Honda Accord seen leaving the area. According to police, the Ontario licence plate is BZMX 845.

Banks's latest single, American Girl was released just weeks ago.
