Tour la Nuit and Tour de l'Île bikes invade streets this weekend

This weekend, thousands of people on bicycles will take to Montreal streets to partake in the annual Tour la Nuit and Tour de l'Île.

Tour la Nuit on Friday, May 29

The nighttime 21-kilometre event kicks off Friday, May 29 at 8:15 p.m. at Jeanne-Mance Park. Check the route here.

Many central Montreal streets will begin closing Friday night at 6:45 p.m. and stay closed until just before midnight.

Tour de l'Île on Sunday, May 31

Cyclists on Sunday will be able to choose between a 28-kilometre route, a 50-kilometre route and a route of between 65 and 100 kilometres around the city.

The shorter routes begin Sunday at 9:15 a.m. at Jeanne-Mance Park. Those doing the longest route can leave the park as of 7 a.m. Check the shorter routes here and the longer one here.

Roads across the following boroughs will be closed for a large part of Sunday:

- Plateau-Mont-Royal.

- Rosemont–La-Petite-Patrie.

- Villeray–Parc-Extension.

- Ville-Marie.

- Notre-Dame-de-Grâce–Côte-des-Neiges.

- Town of Mount Royal.

- Southwest.

- Westmount.

- Lachine.

- Verdun.

- LaSalle.
