Tracee Ellis Ross Brings the Color in a Sheer Purple Dress with Neon Yellow Sleeves
Tracee Ellis Ross made an entrance at last night's Fashion Trust U.S. Awards in an unexpected look straight from the runway.
The actress walked the event's red carpet in a deep purple-and-black dress with billowing sleeves in neon yellow pulled from Erdem's fall/winter 2023 ready-to-wear collection. The dress was entirely sheer at the base and featured a floral pattern in velvet panels. The middle was broken up by a peplum detail, and the eye-catching sleeves doubled as gloves.
Ross layered the standout dress over a short black slip and paired it with bright yellow pumps to complement her sleeves.
The Black-ish star matched her purple eye shadow to the dress and wore a nude lip gloss and her hair in sleek braids. She accessorized only with long gold-and-diamond bar earrings.
"In fashion we trust," Ross captioned a series of photos of herself posing in the bold look on her Instagram.
Launched in November 2022, Fashion Trust U.S. is a nonprofit that is dedicated to "discovering, funding, and nurturing" young American design talent, per the event's website. The inaugural awards show was held in Los Angeles last night, and Ellis Ross was among the celebrity presenters.
While at the podium, Ross announced the winners of the Jewelry Award: Brooklyn-based twins Soull and Dynasty Ogun. The designers will receive a grant of up to $150,000 and advisory board mentorship to further grow their brand.
