Train strikes, kills pedestrian in Fort Worth, police say

A pedestrian was killed Thursday after being struck by a train in Fort Worth, according to police.

At around 5:10 p.m., police responded to the intersection of East First Street and Penland Street after a report of a person hit by a train.

Police determined the pedestrian had been walking on the train tracks when the incident occurred. Medics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the manner and cause of death. The victim’s identity will be released once family has been notified.
