Travis Kelce is looking toward a very important ring this weekend. But according to a new interview, it's probably not a ring for Taylor Swift's left hand.
During a press conference in Las Vegas ahead of Super Bowl LVIII, where Kelce's team, the Kansas City Chiefs, will face off against the San Francisco 49ers, a reporter asked the tight end if the winners's ring is the only one he has in mind this weekend. "Is there going to be another ring … besides the Super Bowl ring if you win on Sunday?" the reporter asked. Kelce replied, "I'm focused on getting this ring and that's all my mind's focused on right now."
In the last month, speculation about the status of Swift and Kelce's relationship — a potential Tayvis engagement — reached a fever pitch, especially after the pair kissed and said "I love you" to each other on the Baltimore Ravens' field after the Chiefs won the AFC Championship. While they've only been official since the summer, the relationship has dominated headlines and social mediam. It's clear they are enjoying time together as they both navigate busy and extremely public careers.
Taylor Swift broke a record after winning her fourth Album of the Year award at the Grammys, and while Travis Kelce is in the midst of prep for the game, he still made sure to watch the moment. "I was fortunate enough that we landed right in Las Vegas just in time for me to turn on my phone and catch her winning her 13th award and announcing the new album," Kelce said during another press conference. "And then obviously the big one at the end, winning Album of the Year for a fourth time. It's pretty amazing."
Whether or not Swift catches a potential big moment for Kelce is still up in the air. The singer, who recently announced her new album Tortured Poets Department, is currently on the next leg of her Eras tour. The night before the big game, she's performing in Japan, which means getting to Las Vegas on time will require some serious flight logistics (and carbon emissions). Still, fans think she'll try to do it. The fear she may leave her concert early has gotten so loud that the Japanese Embassy in Washington, D.C, sent a message on X writing, "Despite the 12-hour flight and 17-hour time difference, the Embassy can confidently Speak Now to say that if she departs Tokyo in the evening after her concert, she should comfortably arrive in Las Vegas before the Super Bowl begins."
So, will there be two rings on the 50-yard line this Sunday? Perhaps a Grammys sweep and a Superbowl Championship ring will be enough for the couple. (For now, at least.)
