Tree collapses on woman in Fulham leaving her with potentially life-changing injuries
A woman has been struck by a falling tree in Fulham, leaving her with potentially life-changing injuries.
The pedestrian, in her 30s, was seriously injured in the incident on Fulham Palace Road shortly before 9.30am on Thursday.
A Met police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 09:28hrs on Thursday, 21 September to reports that a tree had fallen onto a woman in Fulham Palace Road, SW6.
“Officers attended along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.
“The woman, aged in her 30s, was taken to hospital where her injuries were assessed as not life-threatening, however may be life-changing.
“A second woman was treated for minor injuries.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 8.57am today (21 September) to reports of an incident on Fulham Palace Road, SW6.
“We sent multiple resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, a medic in a fast response car and members of our tactical response unit.
“We treated a patient at the scene for head, neck and back injuries before taking them to a major trauma centre as a priority.”
Local MP Greg Hands posted a message about the incident on social media .
“Am shocked at news of the accident on Fulham Palace Road, SW6, with a large section of a tree falling on pedestrians,” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“One person is reportedly badly injured.
“I am being kept updated by @MPSHammFul, but my thoughts are with the victims and with the responders.”
