Trial begins in Regina for chiropractor facing seven sexual assault charges

REGINA — The trial has begun for a Regina chiropractor accused of sexually assaulting seven women over 10 years.

Prosecutor Jackie Lane, in an opening statement, told court Dr. Ruben Manz would reach under the women's bras while stretching their necks.

She argued Manz was given access to the women by virtue of his role as their trusted medical caregiver.

She says he betrayed that trust by touching their breasts for no legitimate medical purpose.

The seven women are to testify in court this week and the defence has yet to make its arguments.

The proceedings are before a jury of 10 women and three men.
