A trial is set for a woman accused of abducting a four-month old baby boy.

Tori Sutherland, 26, is charged with break and enter, assault, abduction of a child, and breach of a release order.

According to Wakaw RCMP, they were investigating several disturbances on One Arrow First Nation on Nov. 14, 2020, when they were advised that during one of the disturbances, a woman went into someone’s home uninvited, assaulted a woman and abducted an infant.

The mother found her baby unharmed about 30 to 45 minutes later at another residence on One Arrow First Nation.

Police say Sutherland knew the victims and no weapons were seen or used. The charges against Sutherland haven’t been proven in court.

Wakaw and Rosthern RCMP arrested Sutherland Dec. 31, 2020.

Sutherland was released on bail Jan. 7.

Her trial is scheduled for September in Melfort Provincial Court.
