I tried this new exfoliating face oil — here’s the real tea

To me, the secret to a healthy, youthful glow is three things: minimal stress, a good night’s sleep and a face oil.
For years, I have opted for a face oil over a thick moisturizer (don’t get me wrong, both have their place in a skin care routine). That’s why I tried Urban Skin Rx’s new Reti-Glow Gentle Resurfacing Serum.

According to the product description, the serum helps improve the appearance of uneven skin tone, fine lines, rough texture and dehydrated skin. It also contains vitamin E, salicylic acid and bakuchiol, a plant-based alternative to retinol.
The first thing I noticed about this night oil after I washed my face was the consistency. It’s not a water-based oil, so it wasn’t super runny. It also wasn’t so thick I felt like I was putting snot on my face (eww, I know, but you get my point).
The next thing I noticed was how my skin felt afterward. Usually, with salicylic acid products, I have to be mindful of what I apply afterward because my skin usually will feel tight.
This product didn’t do that at all, and I actually felt quite moisturized once I let the product sit for a few minutes. Of course, I went in after with a moisturizer, but it was nice to know I didn’t have to.
Lastly, I was able to identify almost all of the ingredients, which was a major plus. While this isn’t a “clean” product, I am more inclined to support and buy products with ingredients I can identify. After all, it’s important to know what you’re putting on your face!
Overall, this is a great night oil that gently exfoliates and hydrates the skin. It’s gentle enough for daily use and even for the most sensitive skin types.
