Trip at Holyrood causes power outages across province

Hike in power rates cut by half in revised proposal, says NL Hydro

Power has been restored, after multiple power outages were reported on the Newfoundland Power website Monday morning.

The website says the outages are due to a loss of supply from Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro around 9 a.m.

Hydro tweeted there was a trip on a unit at the Holyrood generating station causing the outages.

"Plenty of generation available," Hydro tweeted.

Hydro said tweeted that all customers were restored by around 9:40 a.m.
