Tropical Storm Pabuk Hits Thai Tourist Islands

Thailand’s Meteorological Department warned there was a risk of flash floods as Tropical Storm Pabuk made landfall in the south of the country on January 4.

Pabuk, the first storm of its kind to hit the region outside of monsoon season in about 30 years, was expected to bring maximum sustained wind speeds of 65 km/h, or about 40 mph, meteorologists said.
