Truck hits special education school bus in Idaho. Students, bus driver taken to hospital

The crash occurred on Monday morning.

Treasure Valley students were taken to the hospital after a school bus accident Monday morning.

A pickup truck struck a Nampa School District special education bus carrying a “handful of students” at about 7:20 a.m., Nampa School District spokesperson Matthew Sizemore told the Idaho Statesman.

The crash occurred near the 8th Avenue South and 2nd Street South intersection in northwest Nampa, according to a Nampa Police Department social media post.

Two students and the bus driver were transported to the hospital with injuries that Sizemore said were “minor” and “non-life-threatening.”

The truck driver was cited for a stop-sign violation, Sizemore said.

Police said the accident caused roadway delays, but law enforcement cleared all lanes by 8:50 a.m.

The Nampa Police Department did not respond to the Statesman’s request for additional information.
