Trudeau criticizes O’Toole on guns, O’Toole proposes more police funding and reverses his gun policy stance

While at a campaign stop in Markham today, Justin Trudeau criticized the Conservative gun violence prevention policy while proposing a further crackdown on some types of guns. Meanwhile, Erin O’Toole proposed giving police and RCMP more funding, despite public backlash against police across North America. O'Toole reversed his position on a 2020 Liberal ban on 1,500 "assault-style" weapons. His platform said it would be withdrawn, today he said he would maintain it.
