Trudeau says engagement with Afghanistan ‘not done’ as Canadian military pulls out of country

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Thursday that Canada’s commitment to the Afghan people is “not done” as the Canadian military ended its evacuation mission in the country, leaving many behind. Trudeau defended his government’s handling of the mission, saying Canada has evacuated 3,700 people in the time given, which was “more than any of our allies.”
