Trump or Harris for president? Canadians share their thoughts on 2024 U.S. Election — Watch
With the U.S. presidential election on Nov. 5, we at Yahoo News Canada went around downtown Vancouver to ask Canadians their thoughts on what’s going on south of the border.
In a highly contested election between current U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump, we heard support being echoed for both sides, along with distrust in both the Democratic and Republican parties.
In a Yahoo Canada poll ahead of their lone debate in September, 77 per cent of Canadians voted that they would like to see Harris as the next president of the United States, compared to 20 per cent who favoured Trump. Three per cent of voters were undecided.
Sentiments are high going into Nov. 5, as Canadians understand the importance and stress the impact that America’s political situation has on us as we look to welcome a new U.S. leader for the upcoming four years.

Trump or Harris.
Definitely not Trump.
I would literally say anything anybody but Trump.
So, hey, everyone, my name is Brian with Yahoo News Canada.
We're out here in downtown Vancouver and today we went around and asked people what they think about the upcoming US election.
I would vote Trump for what reason?
I just feel like he has a lot of good policies and plans to help America, especially with their taxes and cutting down on that and just making groceries affordable again, making housing more affordable.
I'm extremely hopeful that they will make the right choice this time.
What do you think the right choice obvious to me keeping there uh with Kamala Harris, when you look at the alternative that you could have a couple of clowns in there to do a better job than what they had before the whole Trump show and all the horrible stuff that people that support him believe in.
It.
Just to me, it expresses everything that's wrong with America.
And I, I when he was in office, it was hard to watch Harris would be better for Canada.
She would be better for the world and uh she'd be infinitely better for the United States.
For what reason?
It's hard for me to express my disdain for Trump without using a whole bunch of expedite that you can't have on camera.
