Thomas Crooks, 20, was fatally shot by Secret Service agents after an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump
The asset management company BlackRock has removed an ad from 2022 in which Trump rally shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks briefly appeared.
“In 2022, we ran an ad featuring a teacher from Bethel Park High School, in which several unpaid students briefly appeared in the background, including Thomas Matthew Crooks,” BlackRock said in a statement Sunday, July 14 obtained by PEOPLE.

Crooks, 20, was fatally shot by Secret Service agents after an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Butler, Pa. on Saturday, July 13.
Trump, 78, was injured in the shooting, which killed 50-year-old former fire chief Corey Comperatore and critically wounded two other men: David Dutch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74.
Trump, who was bloodied and rushed off stage by Secret Service agents, later said he was grazed by a bullet in a statement on his social media platform, Truth Social. The former president said he was "shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear," but stated that he was OK.

It was determined that Crooks was located on a roof about 400 feet from the stage Trump was on.
Crooks graduated from Bethel Park High School in 2022, according to a statement from the school.
BlackRock called the attack on Trump "abhorrent.”
“We’re thankful former President Trump wasn’t seriously injured, and thinking about all the innocent bystanders and victims of this awful act, especially the person who was killed," the company said. "As our leadership team communicated to colleagues last night, BlackRock strongly condemns political violence of any kind and will do our part to promote civility and unity in the country.”
