Trump, without evidence, says RBG’s dying wish to granddaughter was fabricated by Dems
President Donald Trump says he does not believe Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s dying wish for when her Supreme Court seat should be filled.
Trump suggested Monday on Fox News that several high-profile Democrats are behind Ginsburg’s wish to not be immediately replaced.
“I don’t know that she said that, or was that written out by Adam Schiff and Schumer and Pelosi? I would be more inclined for the second,” Trump said in a phone interview, referring to the California congressman, Senate minority leader and Speaker of the House.
Ginsburg told her granddaughter, Clara Spera, in the days prior to her death, “My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed,” NPR reported.
Trump, who said he will make his Supreme Court pick Friday or Saturday, stated it’s an obligation to quickly replace Ginsburg.
“The bottom line is, we won the election. We have an obligation to do what’s right and act as quickly as possible,” Trump said on Fox News.
Ginsburg died Friday after a battle with pancreatic cancer, McClatchy News reported.

A day after the revered justice died, Trump released a statement addressing what he said was the GOP’s obligation to fill Ginsburg’s seat.
“We were put in this position of power and importance to make decisions for the people who so proudly elected us, the most important of which has long been considered to be the selection of United States Supreme Court Justices,” Trump tweeted. “We have this obligation, without delay!”
