TSB to update Ottawa bus-train crash investigation next week

City faces 5th lawsuit related to bus-train crash

The federal agency investigating last year's bus-train crash in Ottawa that killed six people said they will provide a progress report on the collision next week.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada announced lead investigators Robert Johnston and Dan Di Tota would give an update on Wed., Sept. 24 at 11 a.m. ET in Ottawa.

Five passengers and the bus driver of OC Transpo bus 8017 died after the bus collided with Via Rail passenger train No. 51 on the morning of Sept. 18, 2013.

The collision, which happened at a level crossing near Fallowfield Station in the south Ottawa community of Barhaven, also injured dozens of bus passengers.
