TTC employee 'Bus Driver Al' charged with sexual assault involving 15-year-old

Toronto police have charged a TTC streetcar driver with sexual assault, interference and child luring for his alleged interactions with a 15-year-old girl.

Allan Hrynkiw, 39, also known as "Bus Driver Al" to his passengers, is said to have befriended a 15-year-old girl on social media in 2014.

The two met in person in July on the TTC streetcar he was operating, say police.

They say TTC driver is accused of sexually assaulting the girl on three separate occasions.

Police laid nine charges:

- Three counts of sexual assault.

- Three counts of sexual interference.

- Three counts of luring a child.

Police believe there may be other victims.

The TTC says it is fully cooperating with police on the investigation. Hrynkiw will not be performing his duties while the investigation is pending.
