TTC subway closed from St. George to Pape this weekend

TTC subway service resumes between Spadina and Union stations

There will be no service between St. George and Pape stations on the Bloor-Danforth subway line (Line 2) this weekend. That's so the TTC can get maintenance work done on the Bloor viaduct. Crews will be installing cable so the city can continue structural work on the viaduct next year.

Shuttle buses will be running between St. George and Pape stations. Chester, Sherbourne and Bay stations will be closed. All the other affected stations will remain open to customers looking to buy tickets, tokens and passes.

Normal subway service will resume on Monday at 6 a.m. But while there are closures this weekend, more service is also coming to TTC riders.

TTC increasing service on bus and streetcar routes

Starting this Sunday, there will be "all day, every day" service along these bus and streetcar routes:

- 172 Cherry Street

- 39B Finch East

- 199 Finch Rocket

- 72 Pape

- 167 Pharmacy North

The improvements follow City Council's $95-million investment in TTC service earlier this year.

There are also nine routes getting 10-minute or better service, more than a dozen routes will get increased service to reduce crowding and there will be six new or revised overnight routes. Click here for the full list of affected routes.
