Tucker Carlson: 'We’re still not precisely sure how George Floyd died'

On Tucker Carlson Tonight Tuesday, Carlson questioned exactly how George Floyd died. Floyd was killed while in the custody of Minneapolis police officers on Memorial Day as one of the officers kneeled on Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes. Floyd’s death, which sparked nationwide protests that continue to this day, was ruled a homicide in two separate autopsies. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s office said Floyd died of “cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint and neck compression,” while an independent autopsy commissioned by Floyd’s family concluded that he died as a result of mechanical asphyxiation. And, though both found that Floyd died by homicide, Carlson cast doubt on the cause of Floyd’s death.

TUCKER CARLSON: Floyd's death changed everything. It was a pivot point in American history. No matter what side you're on, that's very clear at this point. So with all of that in mind, the significance of the event in mind, it's striking how little we really know months later about how exactly George Floyd died.

- On Tucker Carlson Tonight Tuesday, Carlson questioned exactly how George Floyd died. Floyd was killed in police custody on Memorial Day as one officer kneeled on his neck for nearly nine minutes. Floyd's death, which sparked nationwide protests that still continue today, was ruled a homicide by the county medical examiner and in an independent autopsy. But Carlson cast doubt on the cause of Floyd's death.

TUCKER CARLSON: Established news organizations state as a matter of factual certainty that Floyd was, in the words of NBC News and so many others, quote, "murdered by a Minneapolis police officer." That certainly is a vivid image, but does it reflect what actually happened? The short answer is we're still not precisely sure how George Floyd died.

- Carlson, who once called the demonstrations over Floyd's killing "a form of tyranny," suggested Floyd may have died as a result of the Fentanyl that was in his system, citing recently leaked bodycam footage of Floyd's arrest. And though the Fentanyl in Floyd's system was widely reported, Carlson accused the media of not digging deeper in Floyd's death.

TUCKER CARLSON: The media in meantime aren't that curious about gathering further details, and they're actively hostile to anyone who is. Ask too many inconvenient, unauthorized questions about George Floyd, and you will be banned from the internet.
