'Turdinator' Vigilante Wages War On Dog Owners Who Fail To Pick Up Their Pets’ Poop

A dog poop-hating vigilante is waging war on owners who fail to clear up their pets’ mess - by dressing in camouflage, hiding in bushes and taking photos.

Dad-of-four Andrew Hawes, 43 - who calls himself “The Turdinator” - has launched his one-man campaign to clean up the streets of Leiston, Suffolk, where he lives.

He puts on camouflage gear and darts from bush to bush in his local park, hoping to photograph irresponsible dog owners as they leave piles of mess behind.

Andrew jumps out and asks them to pick up the faeces, and threatens to post their photos online in the hope of naming and shaming them.

As soon as the offenders are identified he will pass the details onto police. He deletes the pictures of those who pick up the poop.

Lorry driver Andrew has set up a Facebook page Leiston Dog Mess Name and Shame, which already has more than 500 members.

He said: “If I have to go to court to explain my actions, if it’s saving a child from getting dog mess in their eye and going blind through disease, so be it.”

Andrew took action when he and fellow residents got fed-up with the amount of dog mess being left in their town.

People have taken to social media in support of his campaign.

Sharon Cuthbert posted: “He has organised a very good local campaign and the whole point is to get people to realise that it is not acceptable”.
