TVLine Items: Shining Vale Season 2 Trailer, The Great British Baking Show Premiere Date and More
Courteney Cox is seeing dead people again in the trailer for Season 2 of Shining Vale, premiering Friday, Oct. 13 (9/8c) on Starz.
Following her release from a psychiatric hospital, Cox’s character Pat returns home in Season 2 to discover a “mysterious woman who introduces her to a host of ancient remedies used to ‘cure’ women of depression, including the apocryphal Smile Masks,” per the official logline. The new season also “explores what’s in store for the Phelps family as they continue to be haunted by ghosts while Pat struggles to live with mental illness among a broken family, battling demons both internally…and externally.”

Along with Cox, Shining Vale also stars Greg Kinnear, Mira Sorvino (who just joined Dancing With the Stars!), Gus Birney, Merrin Dungey and Dylan Gage. Other big names to look out for include Judith Light, Allison Tolman and Twin Peaks‘ Sherilyn Fenn.

* New episodes of The Great British Baking Show will stream Fridays on Netflix, beginning Sept. 29. Alongside Paul Hollywood, Prue Leith and Noel Fielding, the new season welcomes Alison Hammond as a new co-host.
* The MTV VMAs this year drew 865,000 total viewers (up 37% vs. 2022), hit a four-year high with the 18-34 crowd (up 118% to a 1.14 rating) and posted a three-year high in 18-49 (up 77% to a 1.03 rating).
* Fox has renewed LEGO Masters for Season 5, ahead of the Will Arnett-hosted competition series’ Season 4 premiere (on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 9/8c).
* MTV has announced the cast of its next Surreal Life season, going into production this month. The housemates will include singer Macy Gray, Tom’s son Chet Hanks, Fifth Harmony’s Ally Brooke, rapper O.T. Genasis, Real Housewives of Atlanta vet Kim Zolciak, Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir and model Josie Canseco. (Canseco’s father, former professional baseball player Jose Canseco, appeared on VH1’s original iteration of The Surreal Life in 2005.)
