Two arrested after drugs and firearm seized

Two men have been arrested after drugs and a suspected firearm were found during searches in Londonderry and Antrim.

Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s (PSNI) North West Criminal Investigation team searched three properties in Derry and also carried out a search at an address in Antrim on Monday, police said.

The suspected firearm was seized in Antrim while suspected class B drugs worth £17,000 were discovered in Derry.

Two men, aged 50 and 58, have been arrested.

A PSNI spokeswoman said the firearm will now be subject to forensic examination.
