Two killed, baby hospitalized, in crash with Freightliner on Highway 152 in Los Banos
Two people will killed Monday night in a crash on Highway 152 just outside Los Banos.
And a 1-year old was taken to Valley Children’s Hospital as a precaution, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash was just before midnight on Highway 152 and Turner Island Road. According to the CHP, the driver of a Kia failed to stop at a posted sign and was struck by a Freightliner truck/tractor trailer while moving across the highway.
The Kia had driven directly in front of the truck.
Both vehicles ended up on the highway median.
The driver and a passenger inside the Kia were pronounced dead by the emergency services at the scene, the CHP said. Their identities have not been released pending notification.
The driver of the Freightliner was uninjured.
It is not known why the Kia failed to stop, the CHP said.
