Two killed in collision near Slave Lake

Two people died Sunday when a small SUV and a sedan collided on a northern Alberta highway.

Slave Lake RCMP officers responded to the collision on Highway 2 near Range Road 73 at 9 Mile Creek bridge northwest of Slave Lake at about 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.

A 23-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man died at the scene, RCMP said in a news release Monday. 

A preliminary investigation is underway with the assistance of a collision analyst, RCMP said in a news release.

Slave Lake, Alta. is about 250 kilometres north of Edmonton.
