Two men shot, one fatally, in Opa-locka: Miami-Dade police

A man was killed and another injured in an Opa-locka shooting Monday afternoon, according to Miami-Dade police.

Opa-locka officers were the first on the scene at 2211 Rutland St. shortly before 5 p.m., responding to reports of a shooting, said Detective Angel Rodriguez, a spokesman for Miami-Dade police, which is taking over the investigation.

The officers found two men with gunshot wounds, Rodriguez added.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue paramedics transported the men to the hospital — one in stable condition; the other in critical. Rodriguez said the man in critical condition died at the hospital from his wounds.

Police have not named the men. As of Monday night, Rodriguez said no suspects have been arrested.

Miami-Dade homicide detectives are investigating the shooting.
