Two Molotov cocktails tossed at a Hollywood beach restaurant. Police have made an arrest
A man has been arrested after two Molotov cocktails were tossed at a Hollywood restaurant, police say.
Hollywood police say 59-year-old Chiu Lee Moy threw a Molotov cocktail at Broadwalk Italian Restaurant, 1400 N. Surf Rd., around 4:45 a.m. June 24. Surveillance cameras captured the incident. No damage was reported.
A few weeks later, on Aug. 24, Hollywood police detectives were called to the same restaurant after a similar arson attempt with a Molotov cocktail at 4:55 a.m.
Police identified Moy’s car in connection with the arson attempts and arrested him on Wednesday at his Hollywood home.
He faces two counts of arson and two counts making, possessing, throwing, projecting, placing, or discharging any destructive device.
His vehicle was seized and there is no clear motive, police say.
