Two people found dead, one injured at home in Wise County, authorities say
Two people were found dead and one injured at a house in Newark during a welfare check by Wise County sheriff’s deputies on Wednesday, Nov. 20.
Deputies responded to a home in the 200 block of County Road 4874, after a caller indicated they had not been able to contact one of the residents for several days, Chief Deputy Craig Johnson said in a news release.
Upon arriving at the residence deputies knocked and announced their presence but there was no response. They entered and found two dead bodies inside, Johnson said.
The injured person was transported to an area hospital.
The bodies will be identified and the cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner.
The Wise County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case with assistance from the Texas Rangers.
At this time, authorities do not believe there is a continuing threat to the small town 23 miles northwest of Fort Worth.
