Two people taken to hospital after shooting in Macon neighborhood. Deputies investigating
Two people were shot, including one severely injured, in a Macon neighborhood off Coliseum Drive Monday afternoon, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
A 47-year-old man was taken by ambulance to a medical facility to be treated for a gunshot wound and was in critical condition Monday evening, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies were dispatched to a 911 call regarding “shots fired” within the 500 block of Jones Avenue and Main Street, which is near Coliseum Drive, the news release said.
Deputies later learned a 25-year-old woman was taken to a medical facility via a personal vehicle. She was “suffering from a gunshot wound” and listed in stable condition, the news release said.
Investigators were still working to determine what led to the shooting.
