Ukraine’s General Staff discloses details of Russia’s latest mass missile strike

In a Facebook morning update on Dec. 6, the Ukrainian military said the enemy had launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine’s critical and civilian infrastructure over the past day.

In particular, the Russians hit residential buildings and critical infrastructure facilities in Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Mykolayiv, Odesa, and other Ukrainian regions.

According to the General Staff, the enemy launched 70 Kh-101, Kh-555, Kh-22, Kh-59, Kh-31P, and Kalibr cruise missiles at Ukraine. In total, more than 60 missiles were shot down by air defense units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

“The threat of the enemy launching missile strikes at the power grid facilities and critical infrastructure throughout the territory of Ukraine still remains,” the report says.

An air raid alert was triggered across the country as of 1.10 p.m. on Dec. 15. Sounds of air defense missile launches and explosions could be heard in the capital city of Kyiv and several other regions.

Following the attack, Odesa, Sumy, Zhytomyr, Kryvyi Rih, and other towns and cities were left without power.

Ukrenergo, the country’s biggest electricity transmission system operator, reported emergency power outages were introduced throughout Ukraine.

Meanwhile, one of the Russian missiles was reported to have fallen on the territory of an agricultural enterprise in Moldova, but the weapon did not explode.
