A rare Russian 2S34 Hosta self-propelled artillery system was destroyed by FPV drones in Donetsk Oblast in a joint operation of the Ukrainian air reconnaissance unit Angels and the Adam Joint Task Force, which posted the video of the attack on Telegram on May 19.

“The limited series of exclusive developments of the ‘rashka’ (colloquial for Russia) becomes even more limited,” Adam's team wrote.

The CyberBoroshno OSINT community confirmed the destruction of the system north of Maryinka, Donetsk Oblast.

The 2S34 Hosta is a Russian 120-mm self-propelled artillery system that is an upgraded version of the Soviet-made 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer. It is designed to suppress a variety of targets, including personnel, artillery and mortar batteries, rocket launchers, armored targets, firepower, and command posts at ranges of up to 14 kilometers.

The Ukrainian military had previously captured two Hosta systems, one on March 14, 2022, and the other on April 2, 2022 in Chernihiv Oblast.
