Urgent Call to Test Homes and Safeguard Health

November marks the significant milestone of the 10th Radon Action Month, a dedicated initiative urging Canadians to confront the health risks associated with radon exposure.

Radon, a naturally occurring radioactive gas, poses a severe threat to health, being the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers and claiming over 3,000 lives annually in Canada.

While the risks are alarming, the solution is straightforward: Canadians are encouraged to test their homes for radon. Test kits are available online, at select local retailers, and through certified radon professionals. For many households, installing a radon mitigation system can swiftly reduce levels by over 90%, offering a simple yet effective defence.
