US NHC says 80% chance of cyclone over central subtropical Atlantic

(Reuters) - A non-tropical area of low pressure located several hundred miles to the east-northeast of Bermuda over the central subtropical Atlantic has an 80% chance of becoming a cyclone in the next 48 hours, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Wednesday.

"If these trends continue, this system is likely to become a tropical storm shortly," the Miami-based forecaster said, adding "the system should continue moving generally east-northeastward, remaining over the central and eastern subtropical Atlantic."
