Vancouver's Canada Place announces lineup for Canada 150 celebration
Alex Cuba, Delhi2Dublin and Sam Roberts are just some of the acts that will perform as part of this year's Canada Day celebrations at Canada Place in Vancouver, marking the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation.
All events will be free to attend, according to a statement from the Canada Place Corporation.
Festivities on July 1 — Canada Day itself — will include five stages and performances from such all-Canadian acts as Sam Roberts, Fefe Dobson, Hey Ocean!, Dragonette and more.
There will also be a citizenship ceremony and a fireworks show. A pancake breakfast will be served on July 2, followed by a Canada 150 parade.
"Canada 150 provides Canadians with a chance to celebrate important parts of our country's rich history and heritage," said Vancouver Centre MP Hedy Fry in a news release.
"It will be a year to remember, so let's join our friends and neighbours this June and July to celebrate everything that makes this country great."
Prior to Canada Day, there will also be an event on June 27 to recognize Multiculturalism Day. This will include performances from Alex Cuba and Delhi2Dublin, as well as dancers, drum groups and more.
There will also be an Aboriginal celebration on June 17 and a "Fête Francophone" on June 24.
