A crash between a four-wheeler on a car on a South Carolina highway resulted in one person dying, said South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Nick Pye in a release.
Horry County’s Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard later identified that person as 41-year-old Joshua Jollie of Conway.
A Nissan sedan and a four-wheeler were both headed west along Pee Dee Highway when they crashed into each other near Johnson Shortcut Road around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Pye said. Jollie was brought to the hospital with critical injuries but did not survive the night, according to Pye, Horry County Fire Rescue and Willard.
He succumbed to his injuries at 9:37 p.m., Willard said via email.
The driver of the sedan was not injured. Horry County Fire Rescue responded to this crash and the South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
