Venezuela's AG asks Interpol to issue arrest warrant for Argentina's Milei
(Reuters) - Venezuela's attorney general Tarek Saab on Tuesday said he has requested Interpol to issue an arrest warrant for Argentine President Javier Millei, the latest salvo in a diplomatic spat between the two countries.
Late on Monday, Argentina's federal justice body requested the arrest of Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro, citing human rights violations, following a request from an Argentine advocacy group.
The spat stems from the seizure of a Venezuela airplane in Buenos Aires in June 2022. Venezuela accused Milei of seven crimes, including robbery.
