Watch: Victoria Beckham joins TikTok joking about her infamous diet in viral video

Victoria Beckham has poked fun of her infamous diet of grilled fish and steamed vegetables after officially joining TikTok.

The fashion designer, 48, made her debut on the video sharing platform earlier this week, and while her first TikTok was a delve into some of her beauty go-to's, her second was much more playful and referenced her long-term diet.

Earlier this year David Beckham revealed that his wife has pretty much only eaten grilled fish and steamed vegetables for the past 25 years.

“Since I met her she only eats grilled fish, steamed vegetables, she will very rarely deviate from that,” the former footballer said.

In her TikTok video, the singer turned designer jokingly acknowledged her infamous meal of choice with a video showing her sitting at a dining table.

“Tell me you’re Posh without telling me you’re Posh. I’ll go first,” she said as a waiter removed a white cloche to reveal a plate of grilled fish and steamed vegetables underneath. “I love it.”

In the accompanying caption, Victoria Beckham then urged her fellow TikTok users to "stitch" the video with examples of “how Posh” they are.

“#StitchPosh to show me how Posh you really are TikTok… and tell me you’re Posh without telling me you’re Posh. I can’t wait to see,” she wrote.

After sharing the tongue-in-cheek video many welcomed the star to the platform, while also praising her sense of fun.

"I love Victoria’s sense of humour," one wrote.

"Obsessed," wrote British Vogue.

"Her sense of humour is so underrated," added another.

But not everyone was impressed with the clip, with some accusing the designer of being "out of touch", while others said it wasn't "the time or the place" to be quipping about the subject while the UK is in financial crisis.

Following the backlash, however, some fans defended Beckham's clip, pointing out that she was poking fun at herself.

"Is anyone aware that this is a pun? She was posh spice from the spice girls. Come on, people," one wrote.

"I feel like the joke has gone RIGHT over people's heads," another agreed.

"Did I miss the part where Mrs Beckham was in charge of the country, finance and taxing?" yet another user commented. "The video is a bit of fun, made me laugh."

While discussing why she decided to join TikTok, Beckham told British Vogue that it felt like “the next natural step” as a designer.

Though we can expect Beckham to continue put her own spin on the video platform now she's joined, fans shouldn't hold out on her joining in any viral dance crazes.

“TikTok is a super exciting platform, it’s new territory and a different audience, but it felt like the next natural step,” she told the publication.

“I can’t wait to share what we’ve been creating. On a personal level, I had to give in to the kids at some point - just don’t expect any dance routines!”

Earlier this month, following her husband's comments about her diet, Victoria told Vogue Australia: "I mean, talk about making me sound boring! No. What he meant is that he's never met anyone who's more disciplined with the way that they eat.

"I eat lots of healthy fat: fish, avocado, nuts, that sort of thing. I do drink alcohol, unless I have a reason not to.

"I'll detox from anything for three to six months where I won't drink. I'm quite extreme in anything I do, whether it's eating or working out or drinking or not drinking."
