Victoria Day 2015 in Windsor: What's open and closed

Victoria Day means some services and businesses will be closed. Others have altered their hours.

We've comprised a list of places that are open, closed or that have altered their hours:

Windsor Public Libraries

All Windsor Public Library locations will be closed Victoria Day. Summer library hours begin Tuesday, May 19. All branches will be closed on Sundays when summer hours are in effect.

311 Call Centre

The 311 Call Centre will be closed Victoria Day. Regular hours resume on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

211 Windsor-Essex

The 211 Call Centre will be open 24 hours on Monday.

Garbage & Recycling

There will be no residential collection services on Victoria Day. All residential garbage, recycling and yard waste collection services will be delayed by one day. Night commercial, front end loader and weekly recycling collections are not delayed.

Public Drop-off & Household Chemical Waste Depots

The depots at Central Avenue and E.C. Row will be open on Victoria Day. Spring hours of operation are Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Parks and Recreation

All community and customer care centres and pools will be closed with the exception of scheduled rentals on Victoria Day. All arenas will be closed.

The Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre (WIATC) Presented by Windsor Family Credit Union will be open, but hours for the pool will be modified due to FINA preparations. Visit www.wiatc.ca or call 519-974-2782 for cancellation details.

Adventure Bay Family Water Park

Adventure Bay Family Water Park is open all weekend with extended hours (10 a.m. to 8 p.m.) on Victoria Day.

Parking Enforcement

There will be no parking enforcement on Victoria Day and municipal ticket payment offices will be closed.

Windsor's Community Museum

Windsor's Community Museum is currently closed for renovations and scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, May 19.

Transit Windsor

City buses will operate on a regular Sunday/holiday schedule on Victoria Day. The tunnel bus will operate on a weekday schedule. Schedules and route maps are available online at www.citywindsor.ca/transitwindsor.
The Customer Service Office at 300 Chatham St. W. is open regular hours on Monday from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m.
The sales office at 3700 North Service Rd. E. will be closed.

Canada Post

There will be no regular collection or delivery of mail on Victoria Day. However, Post offices operated by the private sector will be open according to the hours of service of the host business.

The Beer Store

The Beer Store will be closed Victoria Day.

LCBO

LCBO stores will be closed Victoria Day

Devonshire Mall

The Devonshire Mall will be open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
