Video: Huge wildfire turns Fort McMurray skies brown and yellow

Smoke from a massive wildfire in Alberta turned the skies in the Fort McMurray neighborhood of Abasand yellow and brown on Tuesday, May 3. Fort McMurray is known for its massive oil sands deposits and is surrounded by wilderness.

The fire had spread 85,000-hectare, prompting the evacuation of the entire population of Fort McMurray. The Alberta government announced the banning of fire and incendiary targets across the province to reduce the risks of more blazes as the hot and dry weather persisted.
