VIDEO: Texas family horrified as flood waters engulf their home

The home video only lasts for 2 minutes and 35 seconds, but captures in graphic detail the fear felt by a Texas couple as the Blanco River swept through their home in Wimberley, Texas, on Sunday.

Ernie and Sarah Perez watched in horror from the second floor of their home as the river's record surge — which, at its peak reached the height of a four-storey building — roared through their home.

"Oh, no!" Sarah moans more than once as family photographs and furniture swirl beneath them, all captured on a mobile phone.

But the Perez family was lucky — they survived. Nine other people remain missing following the devastation of the "large wall of water that came down the Blanco River and destroyed everything in its path," Hays County Commissioner Will Conley said on Monday..
