50 Rhino Horns Seized in Kuala Lumpur International Airport

Malaysian officials have announced that 50 rhinoceros horns as well as other assorted animal carcasses worth an estimated US$12 million were seized on August 13 at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

The horns are believed to have been smuggled from Africa and were en route to Hanoi, Vietnam, making a transit stop in Malaysia, Channel NewsAsia reported.

The horns were found in a shipment at the airport’s cargo terminal that also contained carcasses of animals believed to be tigers and bears.
