'Apocalyptic' Bushfire Scorch Budawang Mountain Range

Firefighters battled an out-of-control bushfire in Budawang National Park, near the New South Wales south coast, on August 15, warning residents nearby it might be “too late to leave,” ABC reported.

An evacuation centre had opened for residents in Burrill Lake, Kings Point and south of Ulladulla as a total fire ban was in place for the Sydney, Illawarra and Hunter regions until midnight as strong winds continued to fan the fire.
