Arma-chill-o: Wild Armadillo Cools Down With Swim at Texas Park

They may not look like the most adept swimmers, but armadillos do enjoy taking to the water, as this video from Inks Lake State Park in Texas shows.

According to the park’s post, armadillos can “gulp air into their intestines, making them more buoyant.” They can then dog-paddle and even walk along the bottom of streams or ponds, holding their breath for up to six minutes. Credit: Inks Lake State Park – Texas Parks and Wildlife via Storyful
